QUESTION:
If a husband lives far from his wife can he use the internet for sexual gratification with her?
ANSWER:
Husbands and wives, especially young ones, should avoid living at great distances apart for long periods of time. A husband should try his best to return to his wife within four months. Otherwise he should keep her with him.
“وبذالک أمر أمير المؤمنين الفاروق الأعظم عليه الرحمة والرضوان”
[Fatawa Ridawiyyah new edition v.23 p.388]
Anyhow, it is not permissible for him to gain sexual gratification from her via the internet even though she is his wife, because this method leads to masturbation or adultery (zina), and could also cause fitna for a young wife, however if the wife is with him he can gain sexual satisfaction from her using any appropriate means.
The Holy Qur’an says:
“فأتوا حرثکم أني شئتم”
“…so come into your tillage as you will…”
[Surah al-Baqarah, verse 223]
Allah تعالى is most knowing.
